Biodata
Araujo-Pardo has been the president of the Mexican Mathematical Society since 2022. She earned her PhD at the Faculty of Sciences at UNAM (2000) and had a postdoctoral position at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain (2002). In 2020, she took a sabbatical year at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Currently, she is a researcher at the Institute of Mathematics (Campus Juriquilla) and a member level III at the national system of researchers of CONAHCyT. Her area of expertise is discrete mathematics, specifically finite geometries and their relationship with graph theory. She has published approximately 70 research articles, supervised theses at all levels, and participated in more than 80 conferences, both nationally and internationally. She received the "Sofía Kovalevskaia Support" from the Mexican Mathematical Society and the Sofía Kovalevskaia Foundation in 2003. She has been a member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences since November 2013 and received the "Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz 2013" recognition from UNAM in the same year. She became a TWAS Fellow in 2024.
