TYAN - TEACH 4 SD – Strengthening Food Security & Agro-Innovation in Bolivia

The collaborative, science-driven initiative focuses on strengthening food security and promoting sustainable agro-industry development in Bolivia and Latin America

The TYAN Executive Committee invites you to collaborate on TEACH 4 SD (TYAN Educational and Research Program for Sustainable Development in LDCs and S&TLCs), building upon the success of our Hands-on Schools program.  This crucial initiative focuses on strengthening food security and promoting sustainable agro-industry development in Bolivia and the wider Latin American region.
Food insecurity remains a significant challenge, inextricably linked to poverty and inequality.  A collaborative, science-driven approach is vital to address this urgent need.  We aim to transform Bolivia into a regional leader in sustainable food innovation, attracting international collaboration and investment.

TEACH 4 SD – Bolivia 2025 will achieve this through:

1. Developing Innovative Solutions:  Support the creation and implementation of innovative solutions for food production, processing, and distribution, building resilience and security within the Bolivian food system.
2. Boosting Research Capacity: Enhance the research capabilities of Bolivian universities and researchers, fostering scientific advancements in agro-innovation.
3. Nurturing Collaboration: Establish a dynamic network connecting Bolivian universities, leading international experts, teachers, students, and researchers for knowledge exchange and development.
4. Promoting Sustainable Practices:  Cultivate a commitment to environmentally responsible food production, reducing the sector’s environmental impact and promoting resource conservation.
5. Global Network Integration:  Facilitate long-term engagement with TYAN and TWAS, providing access to global scientific resources and opportunities.
6. International Collaboration: Encourage future research projects and scientific exchange between Bolivian and international researchers, driving innovation and knowledge transfer.

Call for Short Course Proposals:

We are seeking proposals for short courses (October 6-10, 2025) focused on agro-industry and environmental science to contribute to TEACH 4 SD.  Funding opportunities are available.
