The TWAS Young Affiliates Network (TYAN) is requesting applicants who are passionate about food insecurity and climate change in Latin America and the Caribbean for an upcoming workshop.
The workshop is called "Capacity building in applied and basic research for the development of scientific partnerships in Latin America and the Caribbean", and is the 10th "thematic workshop" organised by TYAN. It will take place 13–17 November 2023 in in La Paz, Bolivia, and aims to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to drive change and find innovative solutions. Participants will share theoretical frameworks, scientific ideas, and participate in a dialogue across many disciplines in search of solutions to the region’s challenges. The workshop is the result of a partnership between TYAN and the Higher University of San Andrés (USMA), Bolivia.
"In the face of complex challenges like food insecurity, climate change, and inequalities, UMSA holds the key to transformation,” said TYAN Chair Franco Cabrerizo. “By fostering scientific partnerships and knowledge dissemination, we can drive the change needed to achieve sustainable development in the region."
