The TWAS Young Affliates Network – TYAN – is joining with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to organise a high-level workshop designed to nurture leaders who can respond to complex challenges. The Science Leadership Programme will be held 7-11 September near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The deadline for applications is 7 July.
TYAN is a newly established association of the accomplished early-career researchers who are selected for five-year terms in the Academy. A key objective of TYAN is to promote international research and science initiatives.
The Leadership Programme will offer peer support and training to build team development, engagement, good communication and decision-making skills. The first such workshop took place in 2016 in Bangsaen, Thailand.
Other organizers are: the Young Scientists Network-Academy of Sciences Malaysia, the Global Young Academy, in collaboration with the Malaysian Higher Education Leadership Academy and the Thai National Science and Technology Development Agency.
