SRMGI website goes live

A website dedicated to the Solar Radiation Management Initiative (SRMGI), of which TWAS is a partner, is now online.

Launched in March 2010 (see here), the Solar Radiation Management Initiative (SRMGI) is being coordinated by the Royal Society (UK), TWAS and the Environmental Defense Fund (USA).

SRMGI seeks to develop guidelines to ensure that geoengineering research is conducted in a manner that is transparent, responsible and environmentally sound. The project is engaging with a variety of organizations concerned with natural and social science, governance and legal issues, as well as environmental and development NGOs, industry and civil society organizations, from across the globe.

For full details of the initiative, please visit: www.srmgi.org.

NOTE: Successful governance requires a wide range of viewpoints. The SRMGI team welcomes your submissions on geoengineering research and governance.

Please submit your comments here.
