The Zayed International Prize for the Environment (Zayed Prize), worth USD1 million, was established in 1999 by H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, in support of such global initiatives such as the Sustainable Development Goals.
The first three award categories are open to individuals, organizations and partnerships or projects. The fourth award category is for young scientists with a minimum educational qualification of master’s degree and under the age of 40 (at the closing date of the application, which is 30 September 2015).
