The African Academy of Sciences (AAS) is offering a workshop on Training and Mentorship in Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine to take place from 16 to 18 June in Nairobi, Kenya. The deadline for nominations is 15 May.
The goal of the workshop is to develop knowledge and skills in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine among the selected African scientists. It will provide an opportunity for networking with a multidisciplinary team of experts from the African continent and leading middle-income countries, particularly China, Brazil, and India.
The workshop will also present the trainees with an environment to plan or launch their careers in stem cell biology or regenerative medicine.
AAS is seeking nominations of professionals below the age of 45 in the field of medical sciences who have a demonstrated research interest or a background in stem cell biology or regenerative medicine.
AAS is an Africa-wide scientific organization that encourages the development of the research and technology base throughout the continent. AAS was founded with the help of TWAS in 1985, and it hosts TWAS's Regional Office for Sub-Saharan Africa.
