Biodata
Youcef Bentoutou is senior researcher at the Satellite Development Center of the Algerian Space Agency in Algeria. He obtained his bachelor, master, and doctorate degrees in electrical and electronics engineering at the University of Djillali Liabès in Sidi Bel Abbès. He also completed a training degree at the Surrey Space Centre, University of Surrey, United Kingdom, that was directed towards the development of the Alsat-1 disaster monitoring satellite. His research interests include digital signal processing, image processing, computer vision, image registration and satellite on board data handling. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was the recipient of the first TWAS-AAS (African Academy of Sciences)-Microsoft Award for Young Scientists, an IEEE trainee grant, the prize for the best research paper awarded by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and two recognition certificates from Djillali Liabès University. He is also president of the Scientific Committee for the Center of Space Techniques in Arzew, Algeria.
